Stuff came in today. Mobo from NJ, the rest from CA. *shrug*

Slapped it together this evening. It works. I started, but canceled, WinXP setup because it is time for bed. It's pretty, even with just the lights on the case and the blue LED fans shining through the window. I won't worry about the cable sleeves or the UV until after I get it running nicely.

Props to Iceputz for helping me pick out the case.

The xfx graphics card was humorously packaged. Well,
I upgraded my system to 1gig of PC3200 yesterday. Nice! RTS sims seem to run smoother under a full battle.

<embed align=left src=http://www.thzclan.com/avatars/ezice.swf menu=false quality=high bgcolor=#000000 width=217 height=166 type=application/x-shockwave-flash pluginspage=http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ...

XMEN Iceman [DTM]
Founder and Leader of the Base Tribes XMEN Clan
Proud member of the Dragon Talon Mercenaries teamplayers Guild
Citizen of New Fenecia

You weren't much of a challenge - T2 bot after killing Iceman

- click on avatar for links - no, not sausage links!

Fry's was running a sale on that Patriot memory. Happens to be the same kind I got from Newegg. Seems to run really well. I've turned up the timings a little and not had a problem yet; still need to run memtest on it.

Game reports so far: UT2K4 doesn't seem to burden the system at all.
I just played a little Far Cry, which made my old system beg for mercy with everything on low, and it runs fine so far with everything set at "High" and res is, I think, 1280x1024, with AA set medium. There's a little pause when it loads some sounds or textures, which is irritating, but the game itself is running smooth. And purty.

XMEN member
Card-carrying DTM
OKL Fish-napper

Though a program be but three lines long, someday it will have to be maintained.
The Tao of Programming

Gambit you may want to get another 512 of ram, it may resolve whatever issues that you do have. I couldnt ever imagine running a system again with just 512 of ram. Kinda like, i could never go back to dial-up.

<img src="http://www.teamwidowmakers.com/Mega/Sig ...

"MegaDeath //Definition: [n] the death of a million people; "they calibrate the effects of atom bombs in megadeaths" :-)!"

Definitely! That's certainly the first thing I'll do when I start making changes. But 512 will do for now - I did have to make some budget concessions...

XMEN member
Card-carrying DTM
OKL Fish-napper

Though a program be but three lines long, someday it will have to be maintained.
The Tao of Programming
