Step Toward Universal Computing, Run linux game on apple, etc
"A Silicon Valley startup claims to have cracked one of most elusive goals of the software industry: a near-universal emulator that allows software developed for one platform to run on any other, with almost no performance hit."

Link to Wired New Article

"The company claimed QuickTransit eliminates the need to port software from one platform to another. First off, I must say I smell a bit of BS.. namely because the two applications listed in the articles (GIMP and Q3) have native versions for the OS in question. I have GIMP on my Windows machine, and there's an Apple version of Q3 already out.

However, if this thing actuallys works, count me in for grabbing a copy. Particularly if it will enable Win32 apps on Linux boxen. My gaming habits keep my home machine as a Windows machine... which is a situatin I am never totally happy with. (Granted, I'd be most happy if I could have kept OS/2 on it, but that's another thread) Converting to a Linux box while still being able to game with everyone easily would be ideal.
