Looks like we picked a good day to not go to the airshow...

Come in! Have a margarita or root beer? How about some fresh trout? :)

Jim LeRoy lost his life today in a horrible CRASH, and now I'm not sure if I want to go for tomorrow's show. :(

He was easily one of my favorite stunt pilots. I will sure as hell miss him.

I would still go, if for nothing else than to support the show, and the local EAA chapter. (Or is AOPA hosting yours?) Either way, you should still support your local airports. ;)

We go almost every year, but we didn't go this time around. I'm glad I wasn't at Saturday's show. I don't think I would want to watch that in person.

The Thunderbirds fly at the Dayton air show almost every year. Last year was the only show where I remember them not being there. Instead, we got to see the Blue Angels. Both groups are very impressive. It's hard to choose a favorite between them.

I'm more of a Blue Angels fan, mostly because the F18 is a superior aircraft, but the F16 is very impressive in its own right. It'll be interesting to see if the Thunderbirds ever go with the F22 as their platform of choice in the future, with it's superior maneuverability and faster speed...

I didn't go, but I'll still get to see the Thunder Birds. There's a P-51 fly-in in Columbus in September and the Thunder Birds will be there. Though I think over 100 P-51s would be more of a spectacle than even the Thunder Birds can muster. I think that they are even planning a formation flyover of ~50 P-51s!!!
