BSG - 1/30/09

WOW! That's all I can say.

Someone needs to shoot Gaeta.

Scenes from next week seem VERY interesting.

I don't think Zarek's going to live much longer.

Things seem to be spinning out of control. Wonder how our Cylon brethren will respond to recent happenings.

Oh, I think the clip about the basestar powering up weapons was a pretty good indicator there.

"Handbasket" comes to mind as a form of conveyance.

Wonder if the clip we heard about Tigh was true?

Re: Gaeta, yup. Though he does have a point. I saw in an interview that the character was THE Last Filmed Shot before they tore down the sets, so I doubt anyone's going to be finishing him off soon. OTOH, that could've been for a flashback.

It's definitely interesting.

I'm wondering if what was said about Tigh is true as well. Though I think it would be an interesting way to reincarnate Tigh and his dead wife. Sort of show off who/what brought Starbuck back. ;)

I thought it was interesting too that the series has mirrored (in a sci-fi setting, of course) the story of Moses and the idols that the tribes created while Moses was receiving the Commandments. I don't think the president is a "Moses" in what we've seen since they found Earth. But I do think the people are reacting in ways that are counter to their survival.

Who knows? Maybe the series will end with Cavil's base ships jumping to Earth and blowing everyone away, except for the Cylon hyperdrive-equipped ships. I wouldn't be exactly happy with that ending, but it would be sort of funny. :D

Gaeta's final filming was for the webisodes that aired just before the season started up again.

I feel that there is a chance that a major character will be killed off soon. Almost sad to say, I think the Admiral will be shot and killed in the launch tube leaving Tigh to step up and save the fleet. I also think that the Cylons will follow the lead of the President when they start firing at the Galactica, as well as ask for the civilian fleet to jump away.

I'm almost expecting a ship to jump in with Helen flying it proclaiming that the 13'th tribe isn't dead but moved on after having devastated its home world in bitter rivalry.

First of all, what was said about Tighe? I must have missed it.

I don't think Adama will be killed. To be honest, I just don't see how that can happen. I may be wrong. I agree with a major character getting killed off soon, but I think it will be either Gaeta, Zarek, or both.

I think we'll soon see Cavil back on the scene, too.

It's "Ellen" not "Helen," BTW. And Porsche, you got me on Cavil. :)

In the previews for next week, someone (Gaeta?) was saying that Tigh was killed in the action that captured the Admiral. Considering the source I don't think we have to believe it.

I could see them making a compelling story whether or not Admiral Adama gets killed here. For example, maybe he gets fatally wounded and thus becomes the "dying leader." Heh.

2/6 episode

Post by XMEN Gambit »

2/6 episode:

Ok, that was kind of abrupt end to an arc. Can't say I'm displeased though.

How 'bout that Quorum, though? Oooh.

Might have been nice to develop the Roslyn / basestar thing a bit more but I'm not sure what they would have left out to make room. Quite a bit of action in this one and not so much brooding. A good thing. Guess we needed to kind of make a clean break from the disappointment that was Earth.

But... Ellen? *chortle*

*There are a few spoilers in here*

Yeah, the Quorum thing caught me off guard. Do they elect a new Quorum now, or just move on with Rosilyn as the president of the Colonies (kind of a dictatorship thing)?

I was glad to see Adama back in command of Galactica. I knew they couldn't off him.... or Tighe for that matter. The only thing that seemed too convenient was how quickly and easily the marines seemed to switch their loyalties. Are we done with the retribution, or will there be more? For example, the Viper pilot that launched on the President's Raptor. Personally, I was glad to see Gaeta and Zarek get it. Never did like the character of Zarek.

What of Sam? Last we saw he was wounded pretty bad. I think that Starbuck redeemed herself pretty well. Kind of justifies Adama's faith and loyalty to her.

Ellen.... first of all, what on earth is she doing resurrecting (as seen in the previews)? I thought that there could be no more resurrections.

We're down to what.... 6 more episodes? Should be interesting. I think that the Cavil's will be showing up real soon. At least, I think that the preview showed many many base stars in one scene.

Can't wait until next Friday!

I think Ellen's resurrection looked different than the others. (e.g. bluish environment vs. normal red overtones). Wonder if the final 5 are hooked into a different "system."
