Come in! Have a margarita or root beer? How about some fresh trout? :)

If you can read this, you built it correctly.
<img src="http://www.camerasupport.com/oV/mavsigr ...

You built it before the new processor arrived?
<img src="http://www.camerasupport.com/oV/mavsigr ...

I had a AMD 1600xp laying around. Used it to build and test it. My case is so big that it won't be a big deal to get to the processor. Big advantage was getting the OS reloaded and all the patches applied. I also made my old HD the slave and I added a new primary. Makes it easier to migrate some of my settings.

Now you gotta reinstall Windows again when you get the new one. Heh!
<img src="http://www.camerasupport.com/oV/mavsigr ...

Not for just a processor change. MB yes, CPU no.

XMEN member
Card-carrying DTM
OKL Fish-napper

Though a program be but three lines long, someday it will have to be maintained.
The Tao of Programming

Maybe I'm just anal. My systems are always very stable so I don't want to change the way I do anything.
<img src="http://www.camerasupport.com/oV/mavsigr ...

Luckily XP could care less about CPU swaps...but never do it with MB swaps.

A month or so ago we did a chain reaction CPU swap at Hammer's house.

He got a 2500+,
took his 1800+ and put it in Rooster's machine,
Took Roosters Thunderbird 1.2ghz and put it into Firebird's machine.

No issues at all, just faster.

Alrighty then....I got the CPU in last night and BOY it was fast! Then I went ahead and overclocked the FSB to 200mhz and my 2500+ when to 3200+!!!! SWEETTTT!!!!!! It is flying and has yet to burp.

I was running at 32C then it when to 37C after overclocking. Pretty respectable as far as I can tell. I am impressed!
