Wow. I sincerely hope she gets better. Head things are always tricky.

For your sleepiness, that's kind of what grad school is like. All of my friends that have kids have said it gets better. Hang in there, man. We all know that you're doing the best you can, so just hang in there and stay safe (no microsleep for you!).

I've heard good and bad things about getting hit on the head. Most people that get dizzy after a blow to the head have concussions. Stay with her. Keep her from hitting her head more. And make sure she knows that you love her. It will give her something to focus on. And stay calm as best you can! You can worry here, but out there, you gotta stay calm for her!

I'll be praying and thinking good thoughts for you all. Hang in there! :D

Just to let you guys know what is going on.

My wife is still passing out. She fell last night right in my arms. We were picking on each other, being Mothers Day and all, and I went to tickle her and she tried to step back away from me but her feet wouldn't move. She said she tried to move them but it was like they didn't want to respond she said. So she literally fell straight backwards. Like in the movies but without a fall pad. I just grabbed her and tried my best to brace her fall but she still hit flat.

She went to the lawyers today to talk about what was going on. They said that she 150% has a good solid case. They are talking some crazy stuff, but it all makes sense when you step back and look at it. I hate to be a statistic and sue sue sue, but with what the lawyer said I don't feel to bad about it. But we will see.

Oh man, this isn't getting any better. :(

If that doc hasn't done the MRI yet, get him (or some other doc!) to do it ASAP. Continued loss of consciousness is not a good thing. Need to find out what this is exactly and get some work done on it, and fast.

As for your lawyers, I can't think of any advice for them as I've never used one. ...wait... you could feed them some raw meat... that might make 'em more vicious. ;) Kidding aside, perhaps one of our more legal-savvy XMEN can lend some words for this kind of lawyering?

Don't know diddly about lawyering, but I do know the primary issue here is medical rather than legal, and I don't like it a bit.

Thing is the MRI came up with nothing. They can't figure out whats wrong. I am thinking it may be a blood clot somewhere but I don't know I'm not a doctor. She has seen three different doctors and none of them can figure it out. She goes to the neurologist next week. I thought she went this last time but it was just a follow up to see if it still happening.

She fell again last night and I tried to catch her and twisted my wrist something feirce. Hurts like hell. I've got it wrapped in a bandage and everyone keeps asking my what I did. Like I got in the accident. She almost fell this morning too but I was able to get her in a chair before she fell.

Yeah I know it is a legit reason behind it and now I am understanding why people do sue. Pain and suffering isn't a joke. It's real. The lawyer we have is the best where we live. They were recommended by some of the more influential people of Hilton Head.

The lawyer said I qualify for money as well because I'm put out having to take care of the entire family on my own. We have pretty much turned into hermits. It's like having a narcoleptic (spelling) dog... you can't take them out for a walk because they always fall over. Same thing here.

Bad analogy, funny, but bad.

They also said I can get money for us not being able to couple. Can you believe that? That is the funniest thing I've ever heard. So we will see. I am trying to keep a light attitude for her. She is all depressed because I have had to stop a lot of my activities that keep me sane.

My main concern right now is her health, money can come later but her health can't. I don't know, I didn;t get to sleep until 3am last night. I just laid in bed wondering what was going to happen next.

You know the old saying, "Bad things happen to good people?" I feel like Kim and I are a poster child for that term. More Kim then me, but with my luck with computers and passwords (e.g. jake) I feel I fall under that category very well.

It is happening at work now so I suppose it is getting worse. More into the work thing in a second. She fell at the house two days ago under the oddests circumstances. Mother's Day we were together and trying to make her feel better we were goofing off. She tried to back away from me because I think I tried ot tickle her. Well she said that while she tried to move, her feet wouldn't. She fell straight back stiff as a board. I grabbed on to her and tried to brace her fall but she still fell pretty hard. She then fell Monday night during the meeting, why I had to leave in a hurry. I tried catching her but I ended up twisting my wrist something fierce.

She went to an attorney and they are taking it form here. Said she has a very good case and had a lot of good things to say.

Now to the worse part. Like I said she fell at work. Happened to fall in from of her boss. Her boss freaks, goes ape **** and chaos and mayhem ensues. Tells her she can't come back to work. She works on commission, because of that she pulls in far more money than I do. I work salary at my job. She triples my pay easily each month. She can't work, she can't get paid can't pay bills, etc etc. I won't go into the dramatic details but I think you get the idea.

Her boss has this wonderful idea. Sign a waiver saying that if she falls she is responsible and won't sue. Good idea. The company attorney said that was crap and unless her doctor said she could go back to work then it was null and void and not worth anything. So her boss tells her that if her doctor says it is ok for her to work, then she can work.

The bad part. Her doctor tells her boss and writes a note saying that she can work, then all avenue of suing is out the window because the insurance company will see the results from the doctor saying that she can work and they will refuse to pay anything as the doctor said it was ok for her to work so their is no claim to sue.

edit : Talking with my wife on the phone now. She is not allowed to go to work until she is released from the doctors. Until then she is to stay home. So she won't be making any money until this gets resolved, which could take as little as six months to a few years. So... the meager salary she does get is only enough to pay for car payment and maybe two other bills. Not to include house, electric, etc... anyway... God this sucks.

I'll be in touch sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Well, this helps only a little, but if she can't work then she should be getting disability pay, especially if you've got disability insurance. Many employers offer or give you a low-cost, short term disability coverage, and most of those also offer long-term disability (hope you've got some). Failing any of that you should be able to collect a little something from social security or some such. The sooner you apply for any of these, the better.

And just because a doc says she can work doesn't throw an injury or pain-and-sufffering case out the window. She's still injured. Your lawyers could advise you better, of course. BTW, you need to be documenting these incidents. Dates, times, witnesses, severity, injuries from falls, etc.

Obviously the best solution would be to avoid being disabled in any way in the first place - keep pounding on those medicos.

You've got a nice little journal of events here in these posts, WC. Not sure how much BBS posts would stand up in court, but you could use this to framework a pen-and-paper log of everything if you are fuzzy on the dates.
