I remember the scene just don't remember that exchange of words.
I am not entirely sure why placing the arrow in the hand, or the bow which ever it was, made them see earth. Seems real technical which up to that point it hadn't even hinted at being that high tech. Other than space travel. I understand there are always gaps in storyline when dealing with something that had a past that we are not aware of, but it is just to... convienent for me.

For technical stuff.... the ancient humans could have built things to such a fine degree that they were able to put some aesthetic appeal to their technology.
Kind of like if there were such a thing today as a spear that could be used as a spear, but that also shot out bolts of energy. It looks like an archaic thing, until you see it in action.
It could also have been done with an arrow in Athena's hand to prevent the humans from finding out where earth is until they are technologically/metnally/physically/whatever ready for the journey.
Of course, it could also be that humans go from Kobol to Earth, Then for whatever reason try and seek out Kobol, and go on to populate the colonies. Then some faction stays behind to "reset" things on Kobol, and head back towards Earth. The colonies would still have their legends and religious texts to guide them back to Kobol if they needed to. Repeat for infinity or a very long time. It fits with the Cylon statements that "all this has happened before", or some such.

Okay, who else watched the start of the second half of season two last night? Personally, I thought it ROCKED! I just about fell out of my chair when President Rosalyn told Adama that he would have to kill Adm. Caine. She had very compelling reasons, and it turns out that she was right. Now, the question is.... will Starbuck do it?
I'm guessing that the government is structured a bit differently than our own. If it were structured like the U.S. government, the president would just demote Caine and put Adama in charge. Or, she would just put Caine in the brig.
I can't wait until next week.

I enjoyed the episode a lot as well. The near breakout of battle between the two Battlestars and Star Bucks use of the real enemy to bring it back under temporary control. I was testing my TV tuner cards record ability and have the entire episode on my hard drive. It will be deleated after I watch it one more time before the next episode.
Who do you think will give the kill comand faster, Cain or Adama?

It looks like Cain and Adama simultaneously gave the order to have the other one killed, but I'll bet Cain had made up her mind more quickly.
Anyone think that the XO on the Pegasus will refuse to comply? He seems to be having problems with his conscience over what he has done in the past. In the past, he had no choice. Now, he has the Galactica to go to.
One more thing.... let's say that the humans blow away the Cylon Resurrection ship. What's to keep the Cylons from just hyper-jumping another one out there? Or, is this the only one?
I was surprised to see that the Blackbird has an FTL drive.

I am suprised to hear that the Blackbird has weapons, as said in the mission briefing. They said that the Blackbird would attack the FTl drives of the ship leaving it crippled.
How are the Battlestar's going to stand up to the Bases ships without their fighters for cover?

They're depending VERY MUCH on the fighters being drawn off to the diversion that they have planned. Personnally, I think that's a very bad idea. The base stars have more than enough fighters to maintain an overwhelming CAP and still send some after the civilian ships that are going to be dangled in front of their noses.

Maybe they think that the Cylons will send all remaining fighters to defend the Resuraction from the Vipers leaving the Base Stars and Battle Stars to pound it out alone.

Militarily, a battlestar is no match for a basestar. That little 2-on-2 thing they're planning is without a doubt risky. OTOH, I don't know that we've seen ANY weapons coming from a basestar, so it may be a pure carrier. Meaning that without fighter cover, it's toast.
Not sure what Starbuck will do, though she owes Adama a LOT. For instance, Zack, and the way the fleet searched for her when she was lost. With regards to the assassination plans on both sides, Adama has an advantage over Caine - he's been shot in his own command center before. Nothing like a little experience, eh?

One thing I notieced was that Cain said to take all of Adama's cammand out, which includes the XO. Adama only ordered Cains death, no one else. Adama also said to aim for her head.
What I think will happen is Cain and Adama will give their orders at the same time but Cains men revolt and surrender to Adama. Starbuck goes and finds Cain but only to end up in a battle rather than an exicution. Mean while the President will be sent to Galactica for emergancy surgery because of her cancer. Cain gets a message out to her CIC to attack Galactica. As the Viper squadrens keep each other busy a couple of Cain's ships get through and fire missiles at Galactica's landing bays in hopes of detinating weapon and fuel stores. But to everyone's horror and surpise, a civilian ship sacrifices itself to protect Galactica from a near fatal blow. With this Cain's men stop firing from the sheer disbelief of what just happend and Cain begins to see what she has been doing wrong.

You've got quite an imagination there! (j/k)
I don't think that Cain's men will think twice about taking out a civilian ship that is protecting Galactica. I kinda get the idea that they're used to doing away with civilians.
I still think that the XO for Pegasus is key. He seems to have more of a conscience than anyone else that I've seen from Pegasus. Since he's in command of the assassination squad, I think he'll falter and not carry out his orders.

Honestly, I don't think Cain will be resolved in the next episode. It would make for a quick ending to an interesting drama arc. Will Cain's people go for a rescue attempt? Will they fight for her, even if she's brought to Galactica? What will happen if she relinquishes command to Adama? She's not the type to just give up and sit on her ass.
But if she's shot... would the Pegasus throw Starbuck in the brig, then try, convict, and pass sentence on her? The people on Pegasus don't necessarily seem like they will follow orders from the next in line because of the rank. But they're all idiots if they've been following illegal orders because of the rank. I think there'll be plenty of sympathizers that will try to change the balance of power that Adama and Roslyn have.
There's plenty of options for the writers to go with either way, but I think they're more interesting if Cain isn't killed in the next episode.

What if Adama is promoted to Admiral by Roslyn? That way neither one can order the other around. From there Roslyn can decree that Adama is in command of Fleet Security with Galactica and Cain is in command of Military attacks with the Pegasus. That way both can keep doing what they do best. Then at some later episode they can write in that Pegasus went to attack a Cylon base but never returned and scouts show that the base is destroyed and there are some debree that can be identified as belonging to Pegasus but not enough to declear her destroyed.
