I wouldn't call having a nail embedded 1.5" into your brain lucky. Just the fact that the only side effects were a minor toothache and some blurred vision can be considered lucky.

A new light on "right between the eyes"?

That's a real story, some guys at work saw it on MSNBC and FoxNews. Not exactly Dariwn Award nomination worthy, (he didn't die) but still an amazing story.

Just really really hard to beleive that a nail flys and imbeds itself in your face and you didnt realize it? C'mon now, if that shit happened to me i would know it happened. How wouldnt ya?

*laugh

Unless the guy was taking trip and didnt realize it. Thats the only way i can see a person not realizing this happened. Even then, the next day you would be checking this out, im sure.

True story.

When I was in jr. high, I was goofing off with some friends, sitting on top of a ten-foot-high brick wall. Something happened, don't remember what, and I fell off the wall. I ended up in a horizontal position on the ground, was fine, didn't even have the breath knocked out of me. Well, my legs had landed in a bush, and when I tried to move my right leg, it wouldn't. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that my leg had been impaled, completely, through the calf muscle, by a thumb-thick stub of the bush! I yanked it off (carefully) and went off to find my parents, but the point is I never felt the sudden injury. At all.

So, if I were in this guy's shoes, I can believe not feeling the initial injury, but I'm pretty sure I'd have checked out the "soreness" in the roof of my mouth later in the day!

I'm just having a hard time imagining how the nail got in the position it did. Either he had his mouth WIDE open or it went through his lower jaw...

/me imagines a guy with his mouth wide open tring to figure out if his nail gun works...

Maybe he had a loose tooth.

Gambit, I remember that story... days later a green leaf fell out, right? Didn't you post that in some thread about shoving ice cubes into glass bottles or something? :P
