Cool app of the week

Well, last week I guess it was.
The app is called Picasa, and it's from Google. It's a free download and install, and it searches your hard drive for pictures (or only locations you specify, if you like.) I let it scan my drive, and it was finished in a remarkably short period of time. When it's finished, you can see every pic on your system as a thumbnail on a big proof-sheet sort of thing. It even easily does basic picture adjustments, like rotate, brightness/contrast, and red-eye removal. Has a magic auto-fix button, too, that works about like you'd expect. I didn't test the red-eye, but the other things worked well.
I found a bunch of pics I'd forgotten I had!
Here's the link: http://www.picasa.com/index.php
Now, here's the real magic. You can tag your image & movie files, giving them a caption and/or set of keywords. So, if I tag my pics, I can easily and quickly find all pictures of my cat or screenshots or whatever, no matter where they reside on the drive.
Figured out yet that I like it?
