SS: 2845 will be done with Torque!
Torque is the game engine that was used in Tribes 2. BUT! This Torque is remade, and updated... it's no longer the engine it was in T2.
Here is the info:

This is GREAT news, because the SS:2845 dev team won't have to work around problems and get past difficulties with using the Unreal Engine that T:V uses. The work to date will be redone using Torque. This means better net code, better server admin and options, better ability to have a 3D environment, MUCH MUCH more terrain simulation than Unreal can do, and the original tribes and starsiege devs are back to their home turf so to speak.
I must say that the actual rebuild of the new SS game with torque will be using Garage Games' new shader engine, TSE, not just the Torque game engine. What this means, is that the realism is increased over the Torque engine, the latest effects are possible, and the latest hardware can be used to its fullest potential. (Check out the screenshots!)
Some AWESOME news...

It's almost like the T:V Devs WANT the Tribes community to die.... But SS on Torque? Sweet. I'll be wondering around Mal'Ganis for a while till it's relesed. But we'll still have to see what Sierra does with the final product, once the devs turn it over to them.
(I remember reading their agreement they had with Sierra, for liscensing and stuff, like they had to turn the game over once it was complete, and Sierra then had the option of distributing it, etc.)
