I'm home today for rest and lots of ice. I sprained my ankle very badly yesterday. It's in a weird spot, in the back (where my achilles tendon is), but it's not the achilles that's damaged. It's sort of internal from there and on the outside a bit, and just under the ankle bone on my left foot.
The doctor said that they'll get the radiologist to look at the xrays, but that it looked like a sprain right now. It just hurts like hell.
I'm definitely not enjoying my day off from work.

Well, Monday I twisted it ever so slightly while bowling during a lunch party at work (it was a co-worker's birthday on Monday). Monday night, I twisted it again. But both times it hurt when I did it, and not afterwards.
Yesterday morning as I was stepping down a step into my garage, I stubbed my big toe on my right foot. Doing that made me stumble and I landed on my left foot VERY wrong. It hurt for a bit and subsided to a dull ache, but I felt like I could still walk on it.
By lunch my ankle was hurting. And I left work an hour early to go to the doctor's office. Then I waited four hours for them to tell me I sprained my ankle. And by that time, my shoe was leaving a very distinct outline on my foot and my ankle was the size of a grapefruit.
I've iced and elevated it, but there is still a LOT of swelling. It's weird.

Maybe its time to go through the movie collection.
Either that or get into a good book. Hope its something minor.

lol
I decided that I'm going in to work today (though late), since I have an important "Matt you MUST attend this meeting" from my lead and my boss. It's interesting how much experience and knowledge we have on the government side, and how little the contractors utilize that (and how they even look down on some of us because we look younger than we are, myself included).
My ankle no longer hurts all the time. Just most of the time. And it always has this dull ache that throbs, most of the time I don't even notice that when the pain is really high.
It's very weird. And I haven't heard anything new from the doctors, other than them saying that it's a sprain, though in a weird spot. Ah well, wish me luck as I try to navigate through a turnstile with crutches and a bag (and the rest of the day too... I am sure I can make it through the turnstiles).

My understanding is, sprains hurt worse than breaks. Either way, stay off it and I hope you heal quick.
