I bought a Japanese book (just because, I guess...) and the only English in the entire book is "c1975 Printed in Japan" nothing else. I think its a novel of some sort. (At least I hope so.) The illustrations make it look like its placed in feudal Japan.

So, my goal for tonight was to figure out the title. This turned out to be my first lesson in looking up kanji. After much confusion I managed to find all four kanji... but I'm not sure how to put them together into something meaningful in English.

The title is: 真田幸村
It has さな だ ゆき むら down the side of the title and I guess it is the same thing, only in hiragana. (I didn't even notice the hiragana next to the kanji at first because they were so small.)
真 means true, truth, or reality
田 means rice paddy
幸 means happiness, blessing, or fortune
村 means village
Is this supposed to mean "The truth about the happy farming village." or something? I just don't know how to put them together. :(

I could post on some Japanese board... but I know so few words that I fear I would get more lost than helped. :\

I've got to figure out what this books is about. :)

*edit* I found out that it all actually means Sanada Yukimura... a samurai from the late 16th century. It took me three hours to read the TWO words on the front cover and the ten or so on the back cover. And believe it or not, I'm still having fun!
