Hope you have better luck than i did with the one errr... two i had. First one i got had 2 dead pixels and the second one i got had no dead pixels, but had major ghosting problems. I wouldnt recommend that LCD to my worst enemy. Ok maybe i would !

Anyways again, good luck with it !

Ouch!

So... what would be a good flatscreen?

I've been looking at getting one for my next system. I'm going with an Athlon 64 (and yes, I actually can use all that computing power!)

The main issues with LCD's are Ghosting due to slow response time on the refresh and dead pixels. The industry standard usually says that less than 8 pixels is semi-acceptable. You have to remember that on a 19" monitor running at 1280 x 1024 that you are looking at like 1,310,720 pixels per square inch correct? It takes a lot to notice these dead pixels sometimes and also their location on the screen. A dead pixel in the center of the screen is alot more annoying than one on the edge.

We have deployed over 200 Dell LCD flatscreens here at work and I have yet to notice a dead pixel.

Most reviewers also agree that an LCD with a response time of 16ms or lower will have no ghosting, ie motion blur during gaming. I would prefer 14ms or 12ms, but the price was too good to pass up. :)

I will let you know if I see any motion blur on this one. But the 275 reviews, most except for 2-3 say none was evident. So I am taking their word on it.

It is waiting for me at the Fedex office. I am going to pick it up at Lunch...then tonight I will give you feedback. I am going to play some Call of Duty and Far Cry on it and that will definitely give me an impression.

All I can say is WOW!!! Bright...Clear!!! THIN! I have not seen one dead pixel. I only saw a little blur on the floor planks in Far Cry during a run. An only on the close ones. But other than that it was beautiful!

Two Thumbs UP!

Oh...and it is down to $279 now! Sweet!

Cool, glad to hear ya having good luck with it. I just got me a 17" samsung 12ms response time LCD. It was 249.00 with a 50.00 rebate thus costing me 199.00.

I measured it up to my 19"CRT and the view size is the same. (go figure)
I have tested the ghosting with some CS:S and didnt have any. And not one dead pixel. I couldnt be happier. :P

I may even order another for the wife.
