CSI: Miami

Post by DarkKnife »

Anyone watch CSI Miami last week?
It really REALLY pissed me of. I was gonna complain to CBS about it but I wanted the Episode title to complain and it appears to have been taken off their website.
For those of you who dont know what Im talking about. CSI Miami last week had a crime spree where criminals in masks robbed a bank shot a cop and killed a teller. Attempted to rob a treasury helicopter, and raid a police station. To make a long story short the blame fell onto a game developper who encouraged Gamers to play out scenes in his video game in which the Gamers got points in R/L as if in the game. Also the few Gamers who survived to be arrested were so out of it acting like they were only playing a game instead of killing real people. Unable to tell fact from fiction. GRRR. This really pisses me off. I am seriously considering to stop watching the CSI Series because of this, even though I like them. Reason why Ive had several people at work and even Mrs. DK try to get into conversations with me about gaming and violence over this episode. This pisses me off even more.
Rant Rant Rant.

Sooooo anyone know the name of this episode pls post it so can complain properly to CBS and not here. Thanks

Use the opportunity with the coworkers to talk about the media portrayal of video games. Recall how rock 'n' roll was perceived as the ultimate cultural evil back in the day. Etc.

I did see bits and pieces, only about the last 10 minutes of it, just before I got off work. Most of my co-workers play games, and they didn't seem to perturbed by it, but then again, most of them barely graduated High School... It's sad the way they portrayed video game players and makers, and how they were condoning real life violence. BUT - Despite that, it is an interesting twist for a crime series, and made for an interesting and fairly engaging story, IMO. Sometimes, people need to see past the underlying issue, and take it for what it is - entertainment.
