DirectX 10 & the Future of Gaming

How is DirectX 10 and its Unified Architecture going to benefit gamers? What is the gamer going to need to take and advantage of it? We recently sat down with ATI and talked about DirectX 10 and how their next generation desktop GPU will benefit.

Just another 7 months or so... then you can buy vista so you can run dx10.

7 months? Pass that pipe here, boy, that sounds like good stuff.
Ain't happnin'. They've pushed it back until at least next April, and pulled something else out. (Don't remember what it was this time.) At this rate, they'll release Windows XP with DRM and a new interface sometime around 2015.

BY the time Vista comes out, I'll be ready for a new PC.. so say, around 2008 or so.

o really? Guess I haven't been paying much attention. I thought the plan was still Jan 2007... or am I thinking of something else?

Last I heard (a week ago?), the current plan is Apr 07. Reality? dunno...
