It would be great for that Tech to come true. That would make Mars as quick to get to as it was for old Gallions to get the American from Europe.

Good golly gosh. And they worry about terrorists with nukes - how about a few milligrams of antimatter? Yikes.

Otherwise, though, it's a great idea. You'd have to make sure that the stuff was stored and transported in separate chunks, so in case of an accident you wouldn't blow away a continent, but they'll think of that.

And no need to worry anytime soon about how much antimatter is around on Earth. Since the positron was discovered (1920s I believe), there has only been a few millionths of a gram of antimatter at any given time. ;)


Not to say that some novel ideas for trapping antimatter haven't been theorized (salt traps). Just not going to happen any time soon. :D
