... to install a security system. I have been hired by Global Siren to install security systems made by Honeywell and monitored by Monitronics. I will be living down in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and doing installations in neighborhoods where the sales reps get the permission.
The system I am installing is mostly wireless sensors. I do have to run two hard lines for the control panel. I have to run a phone line from the phone box, through the attic, and then down the wall to the panel so it can take control of the line in case of an emergency. I also have to install a power line that will be ran through a transformer plugged into an outlet.
This job will be paying for my next year in College. I have been accepted into my Major of Mechanical Engineering. Housing for the summer is provided by my company, but if I want internet service I will have to pay for that myself and/or split the costs with my roommates. Same with the cable connection, not provided by the company. The best part about where I will be living is that a Best Buy is within walking distance. Just going to have to resist stopping there to use my paycheck instead of walking further down the road to deposit it at the bank. Now I just have to survive the rest of this quarter and pass my classes. Then I can go about making holes in people’s walls and putting screws into walls, doors, and anything else in my way.
