Check out the video on this page.

The M2 Heliodisplay multimedia projector supports a 30" viewable diagonal free-space image. The M2 contains an integrated projection system packaged into an enclosure that can easily be concealed.

I still wonder how safe that thing is. Lasers are the only things that will support a hologram like that. And for it to be based on interference patterns (which I think is the only way you could get the hologram to exist in open space like that), means that there is excess laser energy flowing out of the projectors. Having worked quite a bit with weaponizing various lasers, I can say that I would question how "eye-safe" these things are.

If you get one, and you get a headache or eye-ache looking at it, get a refund!

I think this is the one that uses a thin layer of "smoke" to project on. So, no lasers. If you look at the closeups of, for example, the car at the exhibit, you can kind of see the stuff blowing upwards and swirling around the top of the enclosure. Likewise, in the first part of the video, you see the "curtain" rippling effect toward the top of the image consistent with an airflow blowing from the bottom up.

To give them a lot of credit, you can't really see the smoke, at least in the video.
