Came across an article about this game today. Hadn't heard of it before. Multiplayer open-source game based on Q3 engine, got base building and the like. Don't know about the game itself, but this info means that it'll work on Linux or Windows, it looks reasonably nice, and will run on not-so-new hardware. Great for the cash-strapped, in other words. :)

Here's the linky:

Yeah, I played it, it takes some getting used to, but it's pretty fun. It looks pretty nice too. Iceman had a thread oin this a little while back: viewtopic.php?t=2443

Ah, I see. Had forgotten all about that (sorry, Ice!).

One of the things they've been working on since that post, though, was the game balance. You may like it better now. You also don't have to have Q3 anymore; it's standalone.

(Of course, I've still not downloaded it...)

I may fire it up again, and see if the balance tweaks are better. I haven't been to the site since I initially downloaded it and played it. The off kilter balancing kind of turned me off to it. I've polayed too many games in the last couple years that the balance was significantly off, and the dev team refused to fix it.. *cough*Planetside*cough*
