Ok, am I losing performance but gaining game compatibility by staying with 32-bit windows and not going to the 64-bit version?

Please discuss.

Yup. Until game makers decide to have native support for 64 bit processors and OSes, you can't run crap for games, and most other Apps. I have a 64 bit CPU, and I'd love to get the extra ponies out of it, but I like to play games on my PC too much to make the switch.

It's not so much the games that have problems, it's primarily device drivers. Fairly recent peripherals that use a USB port are probably OK. Older serial and parallel devices will take a while, if they ever work.

Ok... I have ran into 2 games i couldnt install. They are ones that are "free". So they dont exactly count.

I tried to install the 10 day free copy of WOW....and the free copy of Fear:Combat. They both had identical errors, something to the effect that a file didnt match.

But what i have done is, create 2 partitions. One copy of 32 bit XP and one copy of XP64. I have decided to use 32bit OS mainly until there is a reason to use 64bit programs.
