You know, in MN, they wouldn't close down... They'd order in food and make us work till the roads cleared..

lol.
My parents got hit pretty hard by that storm that you guys are now seeing in the midwest. Nicest winter I've seen in years, if you ask me.
It was 16 here last night, and not a single drop of moisture. It's pretty dry out, which only makes the after effects of my flu feel worse.

It snowed here in Seattle on Monday. I left work at 5pm on Monday and got home at 1:30am Tuesday.
No traffic weekends, it is 20 minutes; usual daily traffic, it is an hour. It was a looooong day.

Yep, 8 or so last night, about -10 windchill during the day. But this is SO much better than the 'damp and 40s' weather we've been having lately... that kind of stuff makes my joints hurt like crazy.

Start sending the snow now. If I am lucky it will be so thick by monday that finals will be canceled.

The problem is if it is so thick you can`t get there, but they are NOT canceled.

Well, I live on campus and if I can't get out of my dorm then no one can get into any of the buildings on campus. My tower is one of the tallest buildings around and if the snow comes up to my window then the world must be frozen over. SEND THE SNOW!!

Ah, on-campus life. In April of my freshman year, we had a freezing rain that made a solid inch of ice on everything including the road. Maybe especially the roads. Then there was another 4-6 inches of snow on top of that. Cars lined the ditches since they couldn't stay on the road, and it shut down class for almost a week. My on-campus buddies and I would skate down (in our sneakers, on the sidewalk) to the cafeteria twice a day for grub and play poker and video games all night. That was also the week that Domino's pizza mysteriously decided they wouldn't be honoring their 30-minute delivery guarantee...
