At the IMAX theatre....all I can say is....

WOW!!!!

Incredible movie. Special effects and realism were simply beautiful and the music was awesome.

Two Thumbs up!

I heard a radio critic say that this movie was the kind of thing that would appeal to a 13-year-old boy, but it's definitely not appropriate for that age group. She didn't like it at all - but then, she'd just got back from the Oscars.

She did say that if you liked the trailer you'd probably like the movie.

Oh...it is very brutal and bloody and had some adult scenes that were not really necessary for the movie. NOT FOR KIDS. But the story was good.

haven't seen it yet, but I'm going in with the expectation of: meh
as in, it might be fun to turn my brain off for a couple of hours

This seems like another one of those great movies that critics hate, but every body real, loves. I might have to check it out.

Oh it was sweet!

I have to say that the cinematography was incredible! It's a gorgeous movie!

The fighting really showed how kick ass the Spartans were. The movie embellishes the true events at the battle of Thermopylae. Definitely not for kids!

Yes, indeed. It was a great movie....I liked everything about it, especially the violence. My kinda film.

Saw Wild Hogs tonight, another good movie. THinking about seeing Preminition tomorrow.

Oh...in the movie the audience actually applauded in some scenes because we enjoyed seeing some of the bad guys getting what they deserved.

Not to turn this into a political thread or anything, but did you guys hear about Iran being pissed off about this movie?

Funny thing is, it's not released in Iran.

I love how the Iranians feel it villifies the Persian empire... no crap, it is about a Persian invasion which ultimately lead to the burning of Athens. A movie made by a culture that is based on Greek culture, pisses off the decendants of the Persian empire. Amusing if you really think about it. But when you have a movie based on real events, one side is generally the "good guys" and one the "bad guys" and the "bad guys" will be angry because in their view they were the "good guys"

but didn't the Persians burn Athens as revenge for the Anthenians sending troops to aid rebels in a Persian province? (only took the persians 3 generations to get that revenge IIRC)
