So, who watched SciFi last night and saw the BSG movie "Razor?" If you didn't know, it takes place just after Lee Adama gets command of the Battlestar Pegasus following the death of Admiral Kane. And with flashbacks, we're told the essential story of the Pegasus after the attack on the colonies. Essentially, how and why they came to do those things we saw and heard they'd done, like pillaging civilian craft and their torture of their number 6 "Gina."
As a bonus, we get to see old-style toaster Cylons and raiders that look almost like they came from the old series.
If you missed it, I'm sure there will be reruns, and the DVD will be available Dec 4.

I watched it last night.
Spoilers below:
It was great to get to see something from the Battlestar universe, but I kind of felt like the mission was inconsequential. What was the point of destroying the thing instead of capturing it and studying how they evolved? I liked the back story on the Pegasuses, how they showed Cain as not being a block of stone in the beginning. But she seemed to say one thing then do the exact opposite after the attack. She seemed to have given up on living and brought her entire crew into an existence that killing each other was ok to do.
For being in a refit, the ship was well crewed and stocked. Kind of surprised they got their FTL drive up in time before being destroyed. I know the civilian fleet with the Galactica would have taken 15 or so minutes to get their drives spooled up from nothing.
In the end, W. Adama said he could understand Cain's choices and that he had similar thoughts but the only reason he never did so was because the President was there over his shoulder giving orders and watching over the civilians.
It was interesting to see the original Cylons done in CG. They moved more like robots then humans in suits, as they should. Kind of wish that the Base Star was the old fashion type instead of a hybrid between the old and new. All in all they did a good job in making an enjoyable story that told something without changing what has already been shown in the show. I always though W. Adama was in the war longer than just one mission though.
Questions that come to mind, if the Human form Cylons were only in the prototype stages at the end of the First war, then how did Tye serve in the forces during that time and still be a Cylon? What did the old man mean by "this has happened before, and this will happen again"?
Possible answers I can think of, is that each of the Human Cylons were based off a real Human they captured either during the war or after the war. And the answer to the second one could be that Earth is the new Kobolt, and after years of a golden age there between the Cylons and Humans, new colonies are sent out to recolonize the universe, and those people would have forgotten the robotic Cylons as they no longer exist and decide to build new ones to protect them. Thus the cycle begins again.

The cyclic nature of history has been often repeated in the new BSG series, though the humans generally don't get it and not much specific is said.
Interesting previews for next March, too, when the series starts up again.

I noticed that they had to stop production when the Writer strike started. According to a BSG website that quoted Moore's blog, they have half of next season filmed already, but they don't have the rest done enough to film. They are also supporting the strike. I originally thought they were to start airing in January. I guess they are trying to spread it out more so the strike won't hurt Sci-fi channel too much.
From the preview, I remember hearing Starbuck yelling that they were going the wrong way, but she is being treated like a Cylon by being caged.

I taped it, but I haven't watched it yet since my wife wants to see it too. I'll come back to this thread after I see it.
