You're cracked.. Snow is evil! We've had 2 storms here, and I'm done with it for the year. I'm ready for sunny and 70 again.

Or the high desert!
My parents had snow on Sunday. It's beautiful in the northwest when it snows...
Anyways, you get 345 days of pure sun out here. Even if you love the sun, you'll hate it.

We got snow in Columbus... nobody ever told me how bad they are at clearing the streets here...... HORRIBLE!!! Nearly 10 hours after it stopped snowing they still hadn't re-treated or even plowed some of the main roadways into downtown! Worst of it was ice on nearly every highway ramp and on many of the bridges... but a few miles out of town and the roads were treated and in perfect condition. arghhh

Well, I it finally stopped, Only the made roads are clear so getting back from work was a challenge with my small hyundai tiburon.. Driving a stick in the snow is no fun either
. Last year I had my camry which was a tank in the snow.. Stopped perfect never slid. This car was quite the opposite. Was amusing to drive but will get old pretty quick.
Im ready for the summer cause thats my favorite time of the year, but I do like the snow just because it looks neat

hehe Sharp, now imagine a Miata in the snow! That's what I got to enjoy today. From the garage to the apt. complex gate I never pointed anywhere closer to my direction of travel than 30` to the left. Being front engine RWD, it has alot more front-end grip than I'm used to in the snow, but the back end is simply missing... It feels like I'm numb because I have no feel for my rear wheels. Also, I bet you have ABS... I do not, and heading back to Cincinnati tonight it was so slick that I could not feel my brakes lock... the only way I could tell they were locked is when the car started going sideways again. I really miss my MR2's... I've never had a 4WD, but as far as 2WDs go, mid-engine, rear-drive cannot be beat for driving in the snow. The only time I got an MR2 stuck in the snow was when I bottomed out in 4" of snow (that's what I get for driving lowered cars).
I've been missing summer since............ September?
OT, how does the tiburon drive? I swore I'd never go back to a FWD, but there are a couple that have tempted me (mainly the Mini-S, but there are a few other).

I remember driving on the snow.
Actually, I prefer manuals to autos on the snow. Unless you are talking about an Audi, Subaru, or something else with traction control. I swear I could NOT get that Audi to slide around and do any sort of donut!
I also prefer FWD cars to RWD ones on slick roads because it's easier to point the wheels in the direction you want to go and give it some gas. If you have traction tires...
Yeah, you guys complain about snow, but when you haven't really had any exposure to it in several years, it sucks to hear what you guys are talking about. And you guys could have sandstorms that get worse than whiteout conditions, and make the national news when people get into a pileup.

I don't mind driving in snow - main problem is all the other idiots out there. It's driving on ICE that is treacherous as heck. And yes, I much prefer a manual tranny to auto for driving in teh winter weather.
And yes, I live in Texas where we don't get much, but I've driven in plenty of winter muck in other states.

The tiburon drives very nice I like it. It has great handling, It takes turns amazingly. It is pretty quick and since its a 6 speed it can get pretty fast, I haven't really reached the top speed yet, Ill get up to where I feel uncomfortable and I can tell it still would probably keep gaining without a problem. It's just alot different from my first car which was a '96 camry le. That was my baby, drove great in all weather. In the snow other cars would be stuck around me and i could go speed limit and stop without sliding

Well everyone, here is a surprise for you. I turned in the T-Bird and got an '06 Ford Focus ZX4 SES 4dr Sedan. She's a 5 spd manual transmission, and gets 40 MPG hwy. I just bought her because my T-Bird took 1000 dollars in repairs without a sign of getting better. Time to trade it in. I am spending 20k for it, including interest and everything. A bit high maybe, but I am not too worried.
She handles great on the ice! We just got slammed with 3x days of ice and snow, and I was able to get people to work on time. God it feels great to be in a manual transmission again.
So that's news from your local neighborhood maniac.

I'm quite sure the Focus handles winter driving better than thet T-bird. Rogue had a Camaro for quite a while and winter driving was always an adventure in that.
Does sound like you're paying a bit much for it, though.

$20k AFTER interest? So 20K over the life of the loan? That's reasonable, IMO. Those cars are pretty good for what they are. besides, there's nothing like driving a model built for rally racing.
My Bro's got a 2002 Focus, and it's a fun car, and drives well in the snow.

I've heard similar things about the Focus. Plus the gas mileage isn't bad.
