We were closed the week after Christmas...and just came back. Yuck!

You think that's hard? After a month off, I have to go back to school.
(and after 6 months off, DiamondKatana has to go back to work)

I second BR's statement. I'm not looking forward to classes starting and having to start doing Laplace transforms and calculus again after having not looked at a single complex number or math symbol higher than basic math in a month. Then again, I also have to get back into math before work starts as I am a Math tutor at OSU.

yeesh... I would not want to be a math tutor. I was a Japanese tutor for a while... tutoring is not fun, but she was worth it.

As BR said, I went back to work today. I had classes for the past six months, now I get to try to remember the database structure for our data collection system.
I had a blast going through the 200 e-mails in my inbox, some of which were 5-6 months old.
My first day back to work was made even better by the snow-covered roads. NOTHING had been cleared off and I drove to work in a '96 Mustang.
Let's just say that I haven't had as much fun in my car since the day I bought it!

I had New Years' Day and Christmas Day off. Other than that, I've been working the whole time. Such is life in the Transportation industry. :/

On a good note....I have 8 weeks of vacation this year.
Carried 2 weeks over from last year and 20th year with company gives me 6 weeks.

It's not vacation if you don't take it. One of my goals each year is to use all of my vacation time. As much as I LOVE to work, I need time away.
If you don't take all of your vacation time, you're a Putz.
('Course, we already knew that.)

I'm with Porsche, ya Putz! Banked vacation doesn't do you any good if you don't take it... I've got 3 weeks this year, and you bet I'm gonna use it all. Too much stuff to do with the kids, and 1 decent trip pretty much uses it all up for me.

Hat: the 6 hours per pay period is awesome. I don't exactly like that you can only carry over 240 hours though.
Plus, I'd like to be an old fart (45+) and take the whole month of December off.

yeah, but think of 240 hours.. that's a ton of time. Unless you're planning on getting sick or something, there's no need to carry that much over.
