Buying guns...

Come in! Have a margarita or root beer? How about some fresh trout? :)

Buying guns...

Post by BlackRider »

I told my dad, "With da Dems in power, I bet there's going to be a big rush on the gun stores." Not 30 seconds later, the local news station pops up its top 5 headlines..... "#5, Gun sales soaring". Too bad I'm all out of spendable money, because there's a few rifles I've always wanted (that are borderline "assault weapons"). So I'm going to have to either get a part-time job or start selling my old computer junk & collectibles.

P.S. How's this for a flier?! http://www.targetworld.net/Tactical%20G ... 202008.pdf

Mmm, good thought. Just looked like 2nd amendment was coming back into fashion with the court decision in DC and everything, too.

I was in fact handling a nice Smith and Wesson 9mm today at the Sporting goods store. I was about $350. I might go back and get it. :)

Well then we best not let them know I'm crazy too!

Rav, get a hunting bow instead... those things are so much fun!!! Once I put an arrow in a 2x4 at 30 yards (tip was 4" out the back) and I broke the carbon arrow trying to get it back out. :-P

Maybe I can put together enough $$$ for an FN 5-7 and an M1 Garand.

Pheh, those puny pine 2x4s.

My gramp's place in Arkansas had an old outhouse on it, made of 1/4" (maybe 1/2") oak planks. Dad and I tried sighting in our rifles on it once and decided it might be too dangerous - the slugs tended to bounce, leaving only little dents.

We used 4x8 oak plywood sheets for beamstops on a laser weapon once. It didn't catch fire, but slowly blasted little pieces off. The resin in the plywood was getting vaporized, and the wood would flake off in little chunks. Pretty neat. :D

I once caught a ricochet from a 9mm off of a cedar 4x6. Right into my stomach. Gave me a pretty decent bruise, but didn't pierce the skin.
