Layoffs....oh fun layoffs....

Just happened yesterday at work. First time in the history of the company.

Porsche and I survived. Granted it was only 260 out of over 3000 employees at this site, but some of my coworkers got laid off.
Getting scary out there buds.

Ick.. Luckily, my company has been doing well, but my wife's company is only doing so-so.. So we'll see what happens.

We've not heard anything about any RIFs (government version of layoffs), but it can happen if it gets really bad. Especially since my job is to oversee contractors and their programs. If it gets bad enough that the DoD is cancelling programs that they need, then we've got more problems to worry about than my job.
You guys out there that are in limbo: stay safe. Boeing, MS, Starbucks, Amazon, and Adobe are really the big ones around here that are doing pink slips. Yikes.

Yup.... Putz and I survived. Lots of tears being shed, however. Not a pretty sight.
Actually, of the 260 that Ice mentioned only 160 were on the corporate campus where we work. The other 100 were spread out amongst our other domestic facilities. Kind of surprising that of the 160 on campus, IT only lost 10.
