That's right, after 2 years of applying, interviewing, calling, testing, and filling out forms and such, I finally got a start date from the FAA to attend the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City! I report for duty October 29th at the Mike Moroney Aeronautical Center. I will be there until March 10th, so any of you southerners that feel like rolling into Okie territory are more than welcome to come see me! I will have my laptop with, and it's capable of playing some decent games. I might even be able to swing to Dallas for a day or two if the schedule allows it.

Sweet deal, SH!
Just don't go around saying your acronym: "FAA" doesn't have the same ring as "F" "A" "A". I noted this when someone pronounced DCMA as dikma. Seriously, it's not right.
So... are you going to have go on blood pressure medication just for this job?
Good luck.

The Blood Pressure meds are always a possibility...
I'll never see FAA as a word, it'll be pronounced F A A forever.

Oh it got better when a female Air Force captain I used to work with thought it was funny that I was going to be in the DCMAN division of DCMA. Only she pronounced DCMAN. Hilarity ensued. At my expense.
Apparently, for the deployed civilians in DCMA, it's a funny joke to the service members that are deployed.
I have to admit it was pretty funny though.

Plus I have nice gaming connections to the internet.

Lol @ Asha! Ice: Depending on the schedule, I just might have to do that.
From what i understand, it's only about 4hrs to DFW from OKC. Not bad at all!

Bastards... The FAA canceled my class, and now they're sending me on Nov. 27th.... I really didn't want to spend my Birthday in Oklahoma City!

So spend it in Dallas!
Sorry about your getting switched. But at least you're not canceled.

yeah, sounds like they canceled 3 classes for the year, but no one seems to know why. Pretty much everyone assigned a date has been reassigned, looks like those who would be later in the year will have to wait till FY '11...
