Ok, took the kids to see this today. Wasn't expecting much... well, yes I was. I was expecting a pretty dumb movie with lots of explosions. I was not encouraged when I saw the big "Hasbro" on the big screen right before the studio credits.
I was pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, there's no Oscar contender here. *snort* Hundreds of things wrong with it. But there's a cohesive story and it's enjoyable, provided you aren't expecting a chick flick. There are indeed lots of explosions and shooting. Couldn't do much with the character names, but they did humanize the characters a good bit for several good and bad guys. Told bite-size pieces of relevant character history in flashbacks in appropriate moments without disrupting the main flow, stuff like that. It's equivalent overall to a midrange comic-book movie or one of the over-gadgety Bond films.
