Sold my computer...time for some new stuff
Ok guys...here is what I am looking at. Opinions?
Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA Model AD-7240S-0B - OEM
COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
SAPPHIRE 100283-2L Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor Model HDT55TFBGRBOX
Going to use my existing 3 hard drives, power supply.
Was going with a i5, but the new 6-core Phenom for less than $200 is pretty wicked and performance is better. Going to add an additional 4 gig of RAM later. All running under Windows 7 Ultimate. Hope to have it here next week.

Random thoughts:
I assume that's your Newegg cart list.
I want a 5770.
I would probably have picked the i5-750 instead of the Phenom, partly based on power consumption. Not so much the power itself but for the secondary effect on the air conditioning.
Dunno what power supply you have. I assume it's sufficient? You're pulling some watts there.
My biggest concern - Never heard of that memory brand. Did you check 'em out?

CPU's
you can probably down grade the cpu to the
AMD Phenom x4 965 Black Edition and spend a little more on the card. Then with that Nvidia card I posted above you can use your old Nvidia or get another one and use it for dedicated physx card and this would give your systems ass kickin' ness

Yeah, I thought about the 965, but I drooled over overclocking the X6 to 4Ghz with aircooling. I went ahead and got the 5770 because of the Directx 11 compatibility and also the Infinity display capability with multimonitors. I am looking to do that next year after all the kids move out.
Gambit, the drives are three WD 640GB 7200rpm drives, two black models and one blue. I went to my favorite powersupply calculator site, the link is in the XMEN Technical forum, and it said I had enough overhead. I should be fine.
It all should be here by the weekend. Yippee!
