I've been tasked with doing shots of all of the volunteers at my church. They just want simple head/shoulders shots for ID badges. Kind of overkill with my gear but it's a good excuse to take my camera to church and shoot anything and everything. I've come out with a few candids that I really like.
I liked this one - she has amazing eyes.
This one had a bit of a classic feel to it. I need to dial back the skin smoothing a tad, but I still like how it came out.
This last one was at a birthday party at a local lake. Again, just a candid but I'm happy with how it came out. Another girl with very nice eyes.

Porsche is trying to juggle multiple light sources in that one. Multiple types of light make it really hard to show true colors in a photo. Flourescents show as green, a flash will come up blue, incandescents are sort of orange, etc. If there's just one type (color temperature) of light the camera (or you) can adjust the image to come out right, but when different types are in a single shot, there are varying amounts of each color depending on how close the subject is to each. I'm guessing here we had a incandescent overhead and reflected daylight, possibly on a cloudy day, coming in a window.

Ding ding ding ding.... we have a winner. Gambino hit the nail on the head. Actually there were three different sources of lighting here - cloudy day, flourescent, and incandescent lighting all at the same time. I was not using any kind of flash and was setting my WB manually (I forget what I had it set to).
