Newbie Anger...
Last night, while waiting for the practice, I was playing T1 with a few friends.

Playing Broadside, base of course...

This guy pops in and starts playing... name was Delian I think. (spelling) And when someone on his team aciddently hit him while doing after an enemy he started tking. His excuse... Newbie.

After a while I began to believe him. All he did was run around. Couldn't get back on the bases once he fell off. Not once did I see him jet up higher than a few feet.

Anyway, back to the story at hand...

I come flying out of their base with two hmad heavies after me for blowing up a good time they were having with some turrents. Mortars and disc's flying every way but the right way. I come launching out of the front of their base with a sliver of life left. Gravity hurts me at this point.

I am able to land without dieing, much to my surprise and pleasure. But who do I land mere feet from? Delian.

He starts shoot me with a chaingun that misses my ego by a mile. A short fight ensues and I frag him. Walk over his body and get a repair pack. HEHEH So I thank him. Not in a bad way, just say... "Thanks for the repair pack dude."

As soon as I get done typing... disc's are flying at me like fans at a Limp Bizkit concert. I immediatly had to go on the defensive. I end up spening my last 4 discs and able to kill him with a sliver of red showing for life. Before I could get to his body (which had a repair pack on it again by the way.) He comes swooping down like the Angel of Death on a holiday shopping spree.

We did this for about four more times, each time him getting so pissed that I killed him that he came swooping down after me. Needless to say, after fighting him that many times, I didn't have to worry about going back to the base to heal.

I ended up giving him a fe whints on how to conserve energy more and it was fine. But seeing someone get so pissed that I killed them with no life left was funny.
<img src=http://www.angelfire.com/rpg/Hewdamia/i ...

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Re: Newbie Anger...
Not to hijack the thread, but this just seemed a good one to relate an experience I had the other night.

I'm a very paranoid heavy when I do indoor base D. I've gotten shocklanced all over the place, and have found many ways to counter it. Currently, a shield pack renders the shocklance pretty useless.

So, here I am guarding a remote, far away generator on a Siege map. I'm in heavy, shielded, because I'm expecting to go against other heavies. When, all of a sudden, I can just barely hear over the roaring wind the sound of a cloak pack. I don't have my back against the wall, and thus I know I'm about to get 'lanced in the back. I turn on the shield pack.

Sure enough, I hear the "CHOONK!" of the 'lance going off. As I was in third-person when it hit me, so I now know exactly where the cloaker is. I whirl around, totally unharmed, and blast him with a quick pair of plasma bolts.

Ensuing global chat:

"WTF!? I hit you square in the back! You shoulda been dead!"

"'Lancing heavies that are suited up for indoor work usually just pisses us off," I reply.

"Bull! You had to be cheating!"

"Fine then... come on back in and I'll waste you again, if you don't believe me."

So, I get set up again. This time, just for thrills, I packed along a jammer. The instant I heard footsteps or the cloak pack, I turned it on while freelooking around. Sure enough, he's right there, sneaking up behind me. I didn't even wait for him to shoot; I just turned around and shocklanced him. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Ensuing global chat:

"WTF!! How did you see me?"

"Jammer pack. It's in the manual, just like the shield pack I was using earlier."

"But you shocklanced me!"

"Yep. Heavies can carry 'em too, you know. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> "

After that, I got him to listen, and taught him a few things about indoor combat. Was quite amusing, tho. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Member: DTM, XMEN, SeXy
The Drunken ArtilleryBug!
"Roj, target is *hic* DAWWWG-meat!"

It's kind of funny. After that whole Steele Naved thingy, I spell people's names backwards just to see what comes out. Delian is nailed spelled backward if I'm not too dyslexic. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> I guess you nailed him a few times, eh?

Maybe next time, you could just say "Could anyone bring me a repair pack?" instead of sacrificing poor little newbies. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">
<IMG SRC="http://members.home.net/1ibcnya/slimer. ...
