Did you go to the hard drives on both machines and right click and select share? You have to set the share level there. You will not be able to see any other systems unless you share the drives.<br><br>These questions may sound stupid...but I have to ask bud. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <p><table border="0"><tr><td><embed align="left" src="http://www.thzclan.com/avatars/ezice.swf" menu="false" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="217" height="166" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... <td><table border="0" style='Filter: Shadow(Color=#BB1403,Direction=255)'><tr><td><span class='usertitle'>XMEN Iceman [DTM]<br>Founder and Leader of the Base Tribes XMEN Clan<br>Proud member of the Dragon Talon Mercenaries teamplayers Guild<br>Citizen of New Fenecia<br><br>"You weren't much of a challenge" - T2 bot after killing Iceman<br><br>- click on avatar for links - no, not sausage links!</span></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></p><i></i>

You could always use the LAN Setup Wizard in Win XP. I've used it, before, and it actually works! <p><div align="center"><embed width="250" height="200" src="http://www.theta_mercenaries.homestead.com/files/sphat.swf"></div><p align=center><font color=#ff0000>Why Do I Always Die?!?!?!?!</font></p></p><i></i>

HEH, you're kidding right?<br><br>ok for some reason ICS works now throught the router. I did a reinstall on my driver for my ICS host computer. <br>Still no file sharing. Is there any other settings on the computer's them selves that would prevent file sharing? THe Drives are all shared. <p><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><a href="http://www.thzclan.com/cam" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/cam/jester/thb_ccam.jpg" border="0"></a></td><td><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/kirabby/Eebay/spam.gif" align="middle"></td><td><b><a href="mailto:jester@thzclan.com">996</a></b><br><a href=http://www.thzclan.com>Cerberus of THZ*</a><br><a href=http://www.xmenclan.org>XMEN</a><br><b><a href=http://www.dragontalonmercs.com>Dragon Talon Merc</a> </b></td> <td> <img src="http://www.thzclan.com/jester/minime.jp ... ><i>Edited by: <a href=http://pub3.ezboard.com/uxmenashamandtm ... ge=EN>XMEN Ashaman DTM</a> <img src=http://www.nickandsarah.com/xmen.gif> at: 7/18/02 11:16:26 am</i></p></p><i></i>

Re: I got a Linksys Router
oh yeah, on the ICS host I cannot get it to accept or seek an IP it it always "manually configured"<br>Also on the ICS share computer, it is assinged by DHCP like it should be and the IP is correct. On the ICS host, it has the same IP as the ROuter. <p><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><a href="http://www.thzclan.com/cam" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/cam/jester/thb_ccam.jpg" border="0"></a></td><td><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/kirabby/Eebay/spam.gif" align="middle"></td><td><b><a href="mailto:jester@thzclan.com">996</a></b><br><a href=http://www.thzclan.com>Cerberus of THZ*</a><br><a href=http://www.xmenclan.org>XMEN</a><br><b><a href=http://www.dragontalonmercs.com>Dragon Talon Merc</a> </b></td> <td> <img src="http://www.thzclan.com/jester/minime.jp ... ><i>Edited by: <a href=http://pub3.ezboard.com/uxmenashamandtm ... ge=EN>XMEN Ashaman DTM</a> <img src=http://www.nickandsarah.com/xmen.gif> at: 7/18/02 11:16:26 am</i></p></p><i></i>

Re: I got a Linksys Router
Ok, now I have ICS working, both Computers are being assigned IP's by DHCP. <br><br>Now let me ask a stupid question, is there anything other than sharing the drives that I have to do to see them. I have been going to "View Workgroup Computers" is there somewhere else? <p><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><a href="http://www.thzclan.com/cam" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/cam/jester/thb_ccam.jpg" border="0"></a></td><td><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/kirabby/Eebay/spam.gif" align="middle"></td><td><b><a href="mailto:jester@thzclan.com">996</a></b><br><a href=http://www.thzclan.com>Cerberus of THZ*</a><br><a href=http://www.xmenclan.org>XMEN</a><br><b><a href=http://www.dragontalonmercs.com>Dragon Talon Merc</a> </b></td> <td> <img src="http://www.thzclan.com/jester/minime.jp ... ><i>Edited by: <a href=http://pub3.ezboard.com/uxmenashamandtm ... ge=EN>XMEN Ashaman DTM</a> <img src=http://www.nickandsarah.com/xmen.gif> at: 7/18/02 11:16:26 am</i></p></p><i></i>

Re: I got a Linksys Router
Well, if they're both running the same OS and they both have the same workgroup name and they both have something shared, you should be able to "see" them in your workgroup. <br><br>I say same OS because 9x and 2k/xp have problems sometimes. <p></p><i></i>

Both are running WIN XP pro. I am stil getting the same "do not have permission" error message. So who knows how to set up permissions? <p><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td><a href="http://www.thzclan.com/cam" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/cam/jester/thb_ccam.jpg" border="0"></a></td><td><img src="http://www.thzclan.com/kirabby/Eebay/spam.gif" align="middle"></td><td><b><a href="mailto:jester@thzclan.com">996</a></b><br><a href=http://www.thzclan.com>Cerberus of THZ*</a><br><a href=http://www.xmenclan.org>XMEN</a><br><b><a href=http://www.dragontalonmercs.com>Dragon Talon Merc</a> </b></td> <td> <img src="http://www.thzclan.com/jester/minime.jp ... ><i>Edited by: <a href=http://pub3.ezboard.com/uxmenashamandtm ... ge=EN>XMEN Ashaman DTM</a> <img src=http://www.nickandsarah.com/xmen.gif> at: 7/18/02 11:16:26 am</i></p></p><i></i>

Re: I got a Linksys Router
Is it asking you for username/pw when you try to connect? If it is, use your uid/pw from the system you're trying to connect to. <p><img src=http://www.xmenclan.org/xmengambit.gif border=0 align=left>XMEN member<br>Card-carrying DTM<br>OKL Fish-napper<br><br><br>Though a program be but three lines long,<br> someday it will have to be maintained.<br> <i>- The Tao of Programming</i><br>Life is complex; it consists of real and imaginary parts.</p><i></i>

When I click on NEtwork connections, there is a sidebar menu item that is "View Workgroup Computers"<br><br>It thinks about it for a minute. Doesn't ask for a pw, then it comes up with the message, <br><br>"Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have persmission to use this network resource.
