GeForce4 Ti4400 or GeForce FX 5500

I've found myself in possesion of both a G4...the company said they'll replace the one I fried....and a GFX...which I bought the night I fried the other one. I've read a few reviews of both cards, and even though the GFX is 'next gen', I'm getting the impression that the G4 is a better card overall. I also thought I had read somewhere a while back that NVIDIA is already planning to phase out the GFX line...though they could have been talking about the NVIDIA mainboards....cant remember. Annnnyhow......any suggestions or input? <p></p><i></i>

Geforce FX has some directx 9 capability, as I understand it, but MOST of the time the 4400 may be faster.
