Ok, so it's not a HUGE distress call, but My New Asus Board will not see my XP 2400+ as such.. it sees it as an XP 1800+, and the RAM clk speed is at 166MHz instead of 333. I triplechecked all the jumpers, and still no workie... Any Ideas?

Btw- I have the Asus A7N8X Deluxe, with 2 NICs, and it is insanely fast on the internet... Wow.

I HATE EZBOARD!!!

OK, so I got the mainboard to recognize my CPU, after a couple attempts at making it think it was a 2600+, which worked, but it says the Ram clock is still at 166MHz... I'm gettin a little miffed. Unless, the BIOS reports actual speed, as opposed to the fsb speed, which would make sense....

I don't know what to do.

I HATE EZBOARD!!!

Have you looked at ASUS' website for a current BIOS?

Maybe there is an update to fix that.

Otherwise, what's the displayed speed times the CPU multiplier?

<img src=

There is a new BIOS, but it doesn't address that specific issue. This is Rev. 2.0 of the mainboard, so there haven't been too many changes as of yet... I'll do some more searching tomorrow.

I HATE EZBOARD!!!

Sometimes the computer recognizes the rated speed of the RAM and automatically slows the bus accordingly, which translates to a performance hit. You got some nice fast mem in there?
<img src="

Yeah, I got 1GB PC2700 DDR. I got the chip to run at its rated speed, but I'm starting to think that the BIOS displays the the memory frequency (166MHz) as opposed to it's speed (333MHz). I Emailed Asus this morning about it, so we will see what they say.

I ran 3dMark 2001SE last night, and I got 11,204. That's a 400 3DMark improvemnt from my 2000+.

I HATE EZBOARD!!!
