Hmmm... other than the hardware what do you need to play PS2 online? I guess it ties up the phoneline. Is there some kind of provider service you have to pay?
XMEN|FireFro[DTM] --- "I hate shocklances"

"Join me or die, can you do any less?"

NO. to Play SOCOM online, you hookinto your home network vie Ethernet and you can get on. It's setup like Tribes basically. FF XI is gonna be a pay based service, but a lot of the first/third party software will not be fee based.

The XBox, on the other hand, will have a monthly fee to play online, but not according to specific Games. Microsoft will be hosting all the Game servers, therefore, the $$$$ goes to them.

From reports that I've seen, the Network adapter for PS2 is gonna be $40, and SOCOM will be around $60 because of the bundled Headset/ Mic.
<area href="

Sweet. My friends were reading about it. We loved playing 2 player Rainbow Six on N64. We'll probably be all over this.
XMEN|FireFro[DTM] --- "I hate shocklances"

"Join me or die, can you do any less?"

Sounds good. I know I'm gonna get it. BUT, from what I've read, SOCOM is going to be a broadband only game. <img src=
