Okay, I think I finally have an archer I am happy with.

Race: Human
Class: Lvl 1 Monk/ Lvl 1 Fighter / Level XX Ranger
Favored Enemies:: Any Rogue Class (Elf/Half-Elf/Halfling)
Alignment:: Any Lawful

STR:: 10 INT:: 10
DEX:: 18 WIS:: 14
CON:: 12 CHA:: 8

Okay, milk the Ranger's strengths with the Monk's. One of the best things about this class is the AC/DEX Modifier de-limitation. Because I wear no armor, all of my DEX modifiers will be enabled. Cat's Grace Potions will definitely get into my inventory. He starts with a +4/+2 AC, so it is a 16 Armor Class. A little weaker than he would have with his Studded Leather, but he gets a better AC as he goes.

Another great thing is the Weapon Finesse feat, mixed with dual-wielding the Kama. Flurry of Blows, with the free Dual Wield, with a decent to hit ratio = he can hit opponents very quickly. Great for sneaking up on Mages, and keeping them from casting.

But his greatest weapon will be his Animal Companion and his Bow. Sneaking around to get advantage, he lets loose his Bear to distract the enemy as he unloads his arrows into them.

So, no armor means no penalties for sneaking around, either, and getting a pariapt of wisdom +2 (or greater) will both help his spells AND his AC.

Last, he can use low-level monk outfits to bolster his armor class as well.

His skill as a Scout, and with Healing Kits make him a great friend to a party, and his animal companion is great help to fighters in case the party gets overwhelmed.

Last but not least, he can set traps. His Human racial bonus allows him extra skills even with a relatively low intelligence, giving him excellent variation.

And finally, later on in the game, he can class as a Fighter without any penalty and get a +2 Weapon Specialization bonus for his longbow.

What a wicked Archer!
"Patience is a virtue ... for other people." -Ravok
