I have a TESTED game server sitting in storage right now. It was my second computer, file server, and media storage for a LONG time while I was in college.

I'll have to wait till I drag it out until after I move (I don't quite know where it is yet).

I never got more than 6 or 8 people on it because of my connection, but it seemed to handle them all just fine. It was a single processor machine, running on mandrake linux (8.x). I was thinking of upgrading the hardware in the next year too, because my brother was asking about a computer for college.

Typically we need large diameter power extension cables to pull current from different parts of the building. We are not allowed to tap directly into the power panel so we have to make sure we have low resistance power cables, ie large gauge cables and distribution blocks. Right now we have about six 12 gauge cables and like four 16 gauge cables.

So if anyone has 12 or 10 gauge extension cables they are welcome.

Please make sure you label EVERYTHING you own.
