Bustin' EFS

Some may remember when I asked about this a long time ago. I still haven't found a way to crack EFS. To refresh, I encrypted some files and then decided to reinstall Windows soon after. I backed up the files but foolishly didn't unencrypt it first. Now I can't access the files at all and haven't been able to for a year or so. I've found programs that claim to be able to crack them given enough time but it seems the one I tried at least needs the public key from the machine. I only have the user name. I don't care if it takes a year to crack, does anyone know of any new software that can take care of this? THe files are stuck on a hard drive that I would really like to be able to use for other purposes.
