And ordered my Laptop. Don't think it'll make it in time for the LAN, unless HP finishes and ships it early. (It's supposed to ship Oct. 11th, so I doubt that very much so. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("> ) Here's what I got: HP ZX5000 series Notebook Intel P4 CPU w/ HT @ 3 GHz 1GB PC2700 DDR ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 128Mb 60GB 5400 RPM HDD 15.4" WXGA display (15.4" Widescreen) DVD/CDRW Combo Drive Integrated LAN, Integrated 802.11B/G w/ Speedboster, Integrated 56K Modem, 5 in 1 Media Reader (Integrated) Harmon Kardon Stereo Speakers Win XP Home 12 cell Lithium Ion battery All that for $1599 before a $50 rebate, with free shipping.What do you guys think? a worthwhile purchase, or not enough to fight off the "old" bug for a couple years? I got it mostly for Schoolwork, Papers, etc. but I wanted to be able to play some games on it too, and I know the 9600 isn't the newest GPU for notebooks, it's the best one HP offers. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("> BTW- Anyone having problems here on ezboard not being able to mark forums read, and your ezboard cookies not working right? It has arrived! It arrived about 10:15 this morning, and I have been busily trying to update everything and get everything setup how I like it. It's fast, and looks cool, and the speakers on this thing are very surprising. Not a lot of Bass, but it's not tinny either. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"> So Far, I am very happy with it, and I've found 6 (Yes, 6) Unprotected wireless networks in my apartment building just sitting in my bedroom next to my desk. I have a similar laptop. The 15.4 widescreen is amazing in high-gloss. A friend got the same screen in matte finish and it isn't nearly as pretty but does solve the glare problem in bright rooms. I also got the Centrino unit so my battery life is great, which is important for travelling. Gotta get at least one movie per battery, ya know? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"> Here's my specs: Sager 3760 15.4" High-Gloss LCD Centrino 1.8 GHZ 1024mb DDR (2700) 80GB 5400RPM HD Radeon 9600 64mb Wireless / Gigabyte LAN / Modem Built-in Web Cam DVD-Rom / CD-RW Firewire, USB2, IR, etc etc etc. Nice to have a lightweight machine for a change too. I'll have to do that ice. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"> Mav, I've been using it, and tweaking things all day, and it impresses the hell out of me how fast this thing is, and, while not light, it's a manageable size. I have the matte finish screen, and the glare is pretty much nonexistent, which is good, because I usually work in very well lit areas, and I need to see the screen. I'm loving it so far. Installed Sp2 with no problems, and it doesn't seem to slow the system down at all with it installed. Better yet, do some "net use" commands and get into their C$ or D$ or E$ system shares though their blank(common) local administrator password. Then change their background to a picture of your butt. I spend most of my 2003 server class hacking the other students computers, you would be surprised what you can do with a GPO access in 2003 Server. <img src="http://www.lynxbat.com/albums/album01/nicksZ_001.jpg" style="border:0;"/>
