It's a spin off of one of the ideas that we had. We mentioned all our ideas to the Air Force, and they genuinely liked them. (They just didn't have the money.)
Our "swarm" were more of a tactical unit (squadron-sized). I have not seen anything remotely related to the idea we came up with from any of the big boys (contractors) out here. They're still proving the flight software. Though I can say that one of the aircraft has performed in real life. They're talking about incorporating some of the ideas that we had come up with, but they (the contractors) are thinking too small, in my opinion.
Money is an issue that isn't going well because of the war. Equipment, supporting troops, and supplies all cost a lot of money. Think of the reason that the Nazis had to halt their advance several times throughout WWII; not enough fuel to keep the panzer divisions rolling.
