Update
Ok. I finallt have everything loaded back on my pc, and it is working great.

I do have a couple of questions that you might be able to answer.

Ice, you use a dual monitor set up. I copied you idea, got an extra card and hooked it up with my second monitor.

Do you notice a loss of fps while playing tribes while the second one is on? I thought the purpose of the second card was to not have this problem.

Anyway I tested it both on and offline, and while it was on I lost anywhere from 12-40 fps while using it simultaneously. It varied by what application I had running on it. 10-12 was ie, rw, and email, 30+ was my tv tuner, which is really cool btw.

I also loaded norton. It really slows my system down. WHat should I have running and checking, and what should I disable?

Next thing on the list is my router, so if you have a site that gives step by step instructions on installing the router and setting up a network, let me know. I only what file sharing and maybe print capabilities. Its a linksys btw....

Re: Update
Yes, you will lose a couple of FPS due to the processing power needed. Your processor still has to maintain 2 screens vs. one. But if you are getting 50-100fps you will not notice it. I find the conveinence of 2 screens far outweighs the FPS loss.

Norton should have little or no effect as far as I know. Never heard of that, other than it kicking off a scan during a game. Now that sux!

Here is a cool guide to help you set up your network:<a href="http://www.linksys.com/tech_helper/intr ...

<embed align="left" src="http://www.thzclan.com/avatars/ezice.swf" menu="false" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="217" height="166" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ...

XMEN Iceman [DTM]
Founder and Leader of the Base Tribes XMEN Clan
Proud member of the Dragon Talon Mercenaries teamplayers Guild
Citizen of New Fenecia

"You weren't much of a challenge" - T2 bot after killing Iceman

- click on avatar for links - no, not sausage links!

Re: Update
the 5th one has a line going to the uplink. it's how you can stack them to make like one big router. just plug a cable (or crossover?) from ones uplink(WAN?) port into the next one's #5 port.
