Status update.
Not the best news, either, I'm afraid. Mrs. Bug has been diagnosed with breast cancer. So far, after several weeks of her getting stabbed with pointy things and shoved into large magnets, the Mayo docs think the prognosis is good for recovery. Looks like it's going to be surgery>chemo>radiation for the treament, since the tumor isn't too huge (1 inch across).
Both of us have done most of our frazzling and freaking out, now we're just hoping things go well.
The docs don't seem too terribly worried, and given that the Mayo docs are for the most part a fine bunch, neither am I. Some of the nurses there could use some work, but I like the docs so far.

Cancer is a hard thing to go through. My grandma has gone through it three times and she credits her strength to support from her family. So be there for her and help her be happy. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Ouch man! Good luck for both of you.
My girlfriend is actually raising money and doing a 3-day, 60-mile walk (no running allowed) in a few weeks. Her walk is in San Diego, and she's raised about 1700 dollars at this point, with a goal of 2100 dollars (her team goal of 21,000 dollars was reach a couple of weeks back). It's all going to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Here's the info: www.the3day.org
There are a lot of survivors out there. And from the sound of things, you and the Mrs. will come out just fine.
I'll keep you guys in my thoughts.

Well, we just got done with surgery yesterday. Reports are all good! The tumor hasn't, according to the pathology report and physical inspection, spread. The surgery went well, and now Mrs. Bug is cooling it at the hospital.
I've been seeing her in the day and evening, she's recovering well. We got about four months of chemo to look forward to, but things are definitely looking waaaay up.
Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers.
