Update #3:

Final pathology came in, results are goooood! The cancer has not apparently gone anywhere.

Mrs. Bug is home from the hospital, and recovering rapidly from the surgery. I've learned some interesting skills (how to strip drains, some 'patient maneuvering' moves to help her up/down/out of bed, how to clean various incisions) and we've been doing really well. Our sleep schedule is totally borked, as we're up for a few and then sleeping for a few as we both recover from the ordeal, but that's no biggie right now.

Mrs. Bug's co-workers have formed the Hotdish Brigade, delivering unto us hot meals every couple-three days, and the parents on all sides are sending various care packages.

Things are doing very well, and probably by the end of the week the drains will be removed. After that, we've got chemo to go through, which will be most interesting. I'm going to be shaving my head (but not the beard) in a show of support, and yes, I will get pictures of this. :) Could be interesting, as my head has various funny bumps.

Thanks for the kind posts and thoughts, we appreciate them greatly.

Glad things are going better for you and Mrs. Bug. Sounds like your spirit's are up, which is worth it's weight in gold in terms of recovery.

We are now into chemotherapy. Not quite far enough in for Mrs. Bug to have lost her hair yet, though. Things are going quite well now--we've gotten most of her anti-nausea drugs figured out so as to avoid headaches and the like.

I think the only thing that isn't going well is our sleep schedules. Not uncommon for Mrs. Bug to be up for six hours and down for three or four, and I'm pretty wonky myself. I'm hoping this'll work itself out once the docs clear her to go back to work.

All things considered, though, we are doing just fine. I'll keep you guys updated as things happen.

Please do, Bug.

Great news so far! Keep it coming. :) And give Mrs. Bug our best.
