DSL just became available in my area.

I ordered the DSL Pro package, was only $5.00 more than the standard package.

Downstream Speed: 1.5 to 3.0 Mbps
Upstream Speed: 384 to 512 Kbps

This will be awesome for gaming and great for my side consulting business!!!!

Plus it is $20 cheaper a month than my wireless service!

Woot!!!!

I'm waiting for Verizon FIOS to become available in my area. It's starting to make it's way through DFW. They run fiber directly to your house. Speed is something like 15Mbps down, 5Mbps up for $44/mo. They have a 30Mbps service available, but that's mostly for small businesses. I haven't seen pricing for that yet.

Porsche,

I have Fios, the 30/5 tier. I'm fortunate in that Verizon is competing very heavily in my area with Optonline (cable) and so the 30/5 tier costs me 59.95 a month (it was 49.95 a month for the 15/2). The speed is excellent, stable and has enough upload to do handle 2 people playing WoW, running a TS server and FTP server with 2 active uploads all at once. Thats about the most I've ever done at once. :)

IMHO it's worth the money once your able to get it. I'm waiting now for the town I live in to approve the cable franchise for Verizon, and the we should be able to get TV from them as well down the same line.
