Thats the text I just got from X-Virus.

He is now enlisted into the Marines. He doesn't leave for camp and all that good stuff till Feb. He said he has to take a vacation with his family in Dec. and he needs to start training and getting in shape and losing all his fat.

Thought ya'll might like to know.

He said he wants to end up with a long-term career in the military. I think he said he wants to do data processing or programming or somthing. He said they will train him from the ground up from "This is a mouse." to "Make me some rocket program" ( lol or so he thinks )

But he is extremely excited.

Nah. He's infantry first (Marine), and THEN he's a data analyst or whatever. Even the Marine pilots are like that from the couple helo guys I've talked to at my work.

One of my best friends was active duty doing Communications. He's also an electrical engineer.

I don't want to discourage him (since he's already signed on), but he's gotta be realistic and not get his hopes up if he doesn't place into the job he wants. He'll probably have lots of fun after the first couple of weeks.

And if he stops by to read this... Good luck!

Ya, I did tell him that I doubt he'd start out right in the Technology unit first and he said he knows. He is psyched about actually getting out there. He said he wouldn't have signed up just to sit at home and be on call.
