This will be great. It's not yet, but a commercial holographic storage product is a huge step! One of the posts there said
which is pricey, and the 20Mb/s speed is slow, but it's still huge progress. Remember that tiny magnetic RAM cores started out physically large and horrendously expensive, and now a gig of RAM on a stick is $50.Last I saw the drives are going to be about $10000 to start and the 300gb discs will be $100 each.
