Also note there is a wikipeida article on T1, with links to things like the "last hope" patch. This is the v 1.30 you see on base servers. I'm gonna try it out. Supposed to be compatible with servers running the official 1.11.

I'll have to check it out.

Well it works but I could not join one of the servers because I need a map. :(

It will work still for the 1.11 servers. :D

T1 is freely available and doesn't require a key. T2 does. That doesn't mean that T2 won't be available...

Good to see you here, HD!!

Hmmm...good point. Although since I touched T1 once for about 5 minutes, I'm at a loss. But I bet Hammer is already digging up Happy Mod for T1! ;)

Good to see you guys too. Let's see if we all survive another hurricane season :P

I have not yet been able to find a master server to get some servers. Heh. I suck when I set up my own server though too.

lol... took me a while to get used to it

I never did use ski-scripts for some reason... just didn't like them.

I played around on 3 CTF maps last night. Seems like you catch speed bursts by bunny hopping across the landscape. Definitely not like T2 where you needed a slope (which would actually make sense versus bunny hopping). I'm running unscripted and unpatched right now though, so maybe with some tweaks and crap I won't dislike it so much. I get a kick out of the maps they had in T1 that they remade for T2. At least it's something I recognize ;) Have the inventory stations too btw.

A ski script is not a necessity, but it does keep you from tearing up your keyboard.

Remember that skiing was an accident of the physics engine in T1. Later iterations included it intentionally.

I just saw this topic, and this is an amazing idea. We played T1 at a lan party I hosted a couple of months ago and it was a blast.

Ice, if this works out and we need a place to host a server more permanently, I have a verizon connection (30 down / 5 up) and a server with more then enough horsepower. It would be a pleasure to host a T1 server for old friends to find each other.

Gonna go throw a link to this post up on the LoS forums, and I hope to see you guys in game soon :)
