I played this week for a bit. I only saw one person I recognized: Caesar (I think he had an [HJ] tag on).

I found out a couple of things:

I forgot how much I liked the game!

I suck. Even though I got lucky with one MA (pure luck!), and got lucky by capping as a heavy on Snowblind.

A ski script really helps after not playing for so long.

XFIRE works great for finding games and connecting to them since the master servers appear to be offline permanently.

Hey guys,

I got totally owned by IE - Natural and a 5150 guy on a server last night. Hah, it was nice to be completely humiliated by some of the best tribers in the history of the game.

I was stunned... "THEY still play?!"

It was great. Most of the guys on the server went to bed, leaving the teams 10 v 9 - BE vs DS. I was on the DS side, and they had 3 guys doing some O-sniping on Snowblind. People couldn't even spawn.

For my part, I fought them valiantly, but realized it was futile. 1v3 when I am in a light armor is simply no match. I might have tried a heavy with some mortar action, but I am simply no good in one of those things.

The best I could do was to try to keep em distracted fighting me for a while - which didn't quite work out. Over time, our whole team was trying to get them, but we kept fighting them one or two lights at a time. Perfect for them to simply chew up and get some sniping practice in.

It lead to an easy victory for the BE. Despite my annoyance at O-sniping, to my mind it is a viable tactic. I know people really hate it - because it is perfect suppression fire - but seeing it in action was really something.

I am still practicing how to snipe myself, and I get one or two snipes here and there - enough to be annoying.

I love plasma jumping. It's one of the best ways to get around.

Malthus...if you see this...that sounds like a good idea. I think I have enough parts for a 2nd Tribes server. Let me start working on it.

Gambit and I have been working on keeping the current T2 server where it is...but it might take some money to convince thme. We shall see.
It is on a Verizon 15mb down and 3 up connection and works great.
yours would even be better.

This might be alot of fun. :)
