Anyway, I have used it and it is pretty neat, supposedly it will be a gamers dream.

Oh...one thing that really stands out here is this statement in the article:

Well, considering that game developers rarely implement all of the features of Direct X, I'd say that it will be a couple of years before you will "really need" vista.

Heck, some of the games out now are based Direct X 8 - level technology.

I am very wary of all the built-in DRM stuff in Vista as well.

The new FarCry sequel CRYSIS will be DX10.

The demo is awesome. Watch the leaves move and the details of the environment. AWESOME!

Crysis will exploit features like "dynamic day/night cycle, fully interactive environments, sunrays and diffuse transmission, real time soft shadows, soft particles, interactive/destructible environments, volumetric clouds, and advanced shader technology." Crysis is currently slated for a Q4 2006 release.

I'll second that. DRM on your computer is like a built-in rootkit, allowing you to do what Microsoft (or the xxAA) thinks is OK.
